The Soc.Culture.Scottish FAQ
This is the FAQ from the Usenet Newsgroup. Written by Craig Cockburn with the assistance of others, it's a good place to start looking for answers to your questions. Craig's own site has some interesting information about Scottish weddings.

The Hebrides
Photographer Sam Maynard lived in the Outer Hebrides of Scotland from 1980 to 2000, This site presents many of his photographs, either as isolated images of life in the Western Islands, or if you'd rather, you can view them as parts of a narrative.

The Virtual Hebrides
This is a site about both the Inner and Outer Hebrides, though it does emphasize the Outer isles a bit. It's quite well done, with a wealth of information.

Bonny Scotland digital picture gallery
Carmen Mardiros site has well organized and lovely pictures from all over Scotland.

The Tartan Page
This site offers a good general list, divided by category, of other Scottish sites.
