Macintosh Web Resources

I'm not responsible for the content or the software from any of these sites; they are simply sites that I find interesting, amusing, or helpful.

Apple Support
Here is Apple's own tech support information site. It includes links to the latest info about patches, upgrades, and system software. The Tech Info Library is especially useful.

Version Tracker
This site lists the latest version (including Beta versions) of virtually every Macintosh application, with links to download and support sites.

Mac Fixit
Ted Landau is the editor of this site and the author of Sad Macs, Bombs and Other Disasters (a troubleshooting book for the Macintosh) and the author of many other Macintosh related books. This site is a great place for current news about problems and troubleshooting for the Macintosh.

MacInTouch Home Page
Ric Ford is a Macintosh consultant, and the author of the MacInTouch column in Macweek, as well as the creator of this must-read-daily site with up-to-the-minute Macintosh news and technical information.

MacCentral
MacCentral merged with MacWeek, the profesional weekly news magazine that Macintosh support professionals and users rely on for fast, in-depth coverage. It's now a web-only publication, and the web site should be checked at least once a week. It's well organized, easy to navigate and full of information, news, gossip and reviews about all things Mac.

TidBITS
Adam and Tonya Engst, and now Geoff Duncan, have been writing books about all things Mac and all thing Internet for several years, but TidBITS was their first effort. TidBITS is one of the best electronic newletters for the Mac, and everyone should read it.

MacSurfer
This is a carefully edited, orgainized, and annotated list of of links to the very lateest news about the Mac from all over. It's updated frequently, more than daily, and one of the "must read" sites.

As the Apple Turns
As the Apple turns places Mac news, gossip and speculation within their proper context--a soap opera. You really owe it to yourself to check it out.

Mac OS Rumors
This is one of my favorite Mac oriented rumor and news sites. Remember, these are rumors, not facts!

MacAddict
This is a Mac first, Mac Only professional magazine. The magazine, which comes with a CD-ROM is well-done and worth both the professional and the novice's time as it covers the Mac universe from a number of angles. The web site is also well-done, and constantly updated.

Everything Macintosh
This is exactly what it says, an extremely well-organized link to every possible kind of Macintosh related site, from Apple's many sites, to ZiffNet.

MERP: MacEmail
This is the first place to look for information, including downloads, about anything related to Macs and EMail.

Script Web
This virtual site is a collaborative effort to provide a single source of information for Macintosh scripting. This site has information on every conceivable facet of Macintosh scripting, including Javascript, Apple Script, and Mac PERL.

The Mac Orchard
The Mac Orchard is a carefully cultivated list of the most vital Internet applications and links for Macintosh Internet users, along with Internet software review.

Site Link
John Brochu has a carefully pruned site with the links that you are mostly likely to want and need, and it is updated frequently.

Not that anyone would want them :).
