Digital Medievalist: Scela
About Digital Medievalist: Scéla
Digital Medievalist: Scéla, as the description on the left says, consists of "Opinionated musing on things digital and medieval, particularly those that are Celtic, involve digital manuscripts, digital text, or otherwise strike my fancy." Most of the time, I'll post about topics, or recent news, having to do with things Celtic and Medieval. But I'm especially interested in the applications of digital technology and humanities computing to medieval scholarship; hence the "Digital Medievalist" domain and title. You can read about why I'm a "digital medievalist" if you'd like here. The sub title of this blog, "Scéla," the plural of Old Irish scél, or "tale" is usually translated as "news, tidings." It's not uncommon for a character in Irish medieval texts to ask another for "Scéla." That's what this blog is for, tidings.
